Subject: Too Bad It's So Short....
Because what there is of this show is brilliant. A+ song selection, A+ sound, A+ playing. This Dark Star is pretty immaculate. Excellent Truckin', excellent Two Souls, excellent BBM. Other than the shortness of this show, there is nothing wrong with this. Listen to this show. Killer.

As weird as that may seem, I think it is indisputable that this one.

Garcia = 1 in a million voices ... Jagger, Lennon, Garci et al if you know what I mean and I know that you do

Subject: DARK STAR!!!
The Dark Star on this one is absolutely spectacular. The rest is so-so. The screaming on Truckin' and NFA (and one of the other ones, I forget) is really abrasive and annoying. But grab that Dark Star and don't look back.

4 stars for the Dark Star alone

worth it for the dark star alone, one of the greats in my opinion (and im more biased towards the modern dark stars) and its great because of phil lesh. phils the man

Phil Your Face

Ok conspirators, why won't Dark Star stream? Did the drummer have something to do with it???

So it's only half the show. It's really good.

All of set II w/o Sugar Mag encore. It's really nice. Stand alone Dark Star that won't disappoint. Another must download imo. Enjoy this one disc wonder.

This Dark Star is on the extra disc that was included with the Rockin the Rhein pre-order, and the SM>Caution>UJB from the previous night is also on it. Obviously, it made folks mad that this disc was/is otherwise unavailable. A fine fine DS!

what the?... this dark star is king-sized. listen to phil going berzerk in the melt-down. yikes!!! not sure how this did'nt make it on to dick's picks 30, as those discs, while great, seem to be lacking something of this magnitude... also hearing both verses sung is something that by year's end would be pretty infrequent. also, check out the "donna-esque" screams by bobby & pig at the end of not fade away... sounds like they were having a fucking blast! too much! sound is pretty darn nice, and even though it's a partial, it's better than nuthin'... get down on it.

You guys are right. That jam in Dark Star is pure bliss! I'm gonna download it right now!

Subject: Agreed
It is a partial, and the hiss is there (although barely noticeable if, like me, you're relegated to tiny computer speakers most of the day), but the Dark Star is too good to miss. Believe me.

A standout version of Two Souls as well.

3.23.72 Darkstar, nice jam in the final nine minutes.

And thanks to Derek for turning me on to this Darkstar.

The note about a slight buzz is true but it's not worth passing up this recording over.

The only reason I gave this four instead of five stars is because this is a partial.
